Salary up to £9.50 an hour plus holiday pay
Newnham College is seeking to boost the number of Domestic Assistants with some casual workers, to work over the busy summer period. Out of term time the College hosts conferences, summer schools and different internal and external functions and events and we need additional help in keeping all the areas of the College clean, tidy and presentable. Working with an experienced team of permanent cleaning staff, this is an active and varied job requiring a good level of physical fitness. Some heavy lifting and working at height might also be involved (training given). Flexibility, a keen eye for detail and a positive can-do attitude are important requirements.
The salary is £9.50 plus holiday pay for those aged 18 and over, and £8.91 plus holiday pay for those aged under 18. Working hours will be on 5 days out of 7, so will involve some weekend working and therefore flexibility is expected. This opportunity attracts other benefits such as a free meal when working more than 4 hours a day, parking where available and use of the College gym.
