Visiting the Gardens

Newnham’s gardens are now open for public visits again.

The College gardens are open to visitors on most days throughout the year.

If you’re visiting us, please ensure that there are no more than 6 people in your group (except by prior arrangement with the College) and that children are accompanied at all times.

The lily pond and sunken rose garden pose a potential hazard to children: please supervise them closely in this area.

There are periods when the College is closed to visitors, for example over the Christmas Vacation. If you’re making a special trip to visit the garden, please check that it is open first, by contacting the Porters’ Lodge on Tel: 01223 335 700.

The Iris Café is open for light meals, teas and drinks. Accessible toilets are available to visitors by the Café.

If you are an alumna, you might like to let the Roll Office know that you’re visiting by emailing roll@newn.cam.ac.uk.

For groups of six or more people, please contact the Domestic Bursar on Tel: 01223 335 801 who will be able to offer advice and set arrangements in place for your visit. The College Head Gardener conducts private tours for groups. For information, please contact the Head Gardener directly on Tel: 01223 335 777.
