Biography

Dr. Puerto-Camacho studied Biochemistry at the University of Seville, where she was awarded a MSc degree on Biomedical Research before her PhD. Her Doctoral Thesis at the University of Seville was focussed on the study of Ewing sarcoma, an aggressive paediatric cancer. In particular, Dr. Puerto-Camacho evaluated the role of the protein endoglin in the migratory phenotype of the tumoural cells and how targeting this protein could represent a promising therapeutic strategy against the tumour growth in Ewing sarcoma patients.

Research Interests

Dr. Puerto-Camacho is currently working in the Munoz-Espin Lab, located at the Early Cancer Institute from the University of Cambridge. Herein, she is studying senescence on lung cancer and how the tumour microenvironment can have an impact on tumoural development.
