Would you mentor a finalist?

The Young Alumnae Committee is relaunching its mentorship programme. Mentorships provide support to final year students (mentees) who may have a lot of questions as they begin to transfer from college life to their next chapter – starting their careers, continuing in academia, moving, etc. It’s a confusing and exciting time for lots of young Newnhamites. As they embark on their next chapter, mentees look up to mentors to hear about your work experiences and any guidance you may be able to share.

This program is not overly structured or managed by the Young Alumnae Committee. They match you with a mentee and then it’s up to you and your mentee how often and where (in-person or remotely) you’d like to meet. They advise meeting up at least monthly to maintain a good rapport and gain more from this learning experience. You can indicate in the form how many mentees you’d like to mentor, whether it’s one or a small group.

If you are interested in being a mentor, please fill in this Google form by 1 December.

Mentors can sign up if they are a graduate of Newnham College; there are no matriculation year or age restrictions. For security, people must be signed into Google and can only submit a form once. If you have any questions, please email youngalumnae.newnham@gmail.com.
