Sarah Breeden appointed Deputy Bank of England Governor

Sarah Breeden (NC 1987) has been appointed deputy governor at the Bank of England. The Newnham Associate and finance expert, who studied Economics at Newnham, has worked at the Bank since 1991.

Sarah is Executive Director Financial Stability Strategy and Risk at the Bank and a member of the Financial Policy Committee, tasked by Parliament to prevent the financial system from damaging the economy. She is also leading the Bank’s work on climate change. For eight years, Sarah was also the creator and co-chair of the Bank of England’s women’s network. She recently completed an MSc in Finance at London Business School.
