The Margaret Anstee Centre for Global Studies

The Margaret Anstee Centre for Global Studies supports research into development and international relations.

The Margaret Anstee Centre for Global Studies, founded in 2018,  will initially focus on current trends in international development with the aim of supporting inclusive social and economic change around the world. The latest research news is available on the Margaret Anstee Centre website.

Under the direction of Dr Emma Mawdsley, the Centre currently supports two to three Margaret Anstee Research Fellows, and one graduate studentship.

The Centre also hosts initiatives organized through affiliated Fellows within Newnham, and is a supportive forum for graduate students in the College working on various aspects of international change, politics and development.

The Centre was made possible through a legacy from Dame Margaret, an alumna of the College, and the first woman Under-Secretary General of the United Nations.

The Centre is located in the Dorothy Garrod Building in Newnham College, and provides an ideal hub and platform for discussion, research and external engagement. A map of the College and the location of the Centre can be found here
