Isaac Newton Trust Academic Career Development Fellowship in Philosophy (fixed term)

The Faculty of Philosophy, together with Magdalene and Newnham Colleges seek to appoint an Isaac Newton Trust Academic Career Development Fellow in Philosophy. The Fellowship is a new opportunity for exceptional scholars to contribute to both research and teaching within a Faculty and College environment, offering excellent preparation for applying for future academic appointments.

Newnham College has a rich history of philosophy, from our co-founder Henry Sidgwick to current Fellows Prof Rae Langton and Dr Laura Caponetto.

As an Isaac Newton Trust Academic Career Development Fellow, you will have an opportunity to:

  • enjoy protected time for an independent research project;
  • be embedded in a Faculty research and teaching culture;
  • teach in Colleges in small groups;
  • act as a College Director of Studies for students reading Philosophy;
  • teach undergraduate and/or Masters students in a Faculty setting;
  • be mentored by Faculty members in academic skills (teaching, research, publication, grant applications, academic administration).
