Visits held at Newnham College

In the academic year 2024-25, Newnham is offering multi-school visits for Y10, Y11, and Y12 on fixed dates throughout the school year. Each date will focus on the needs of a specific year group and will feature sessions tailored to their educational stage and the decisions they will be facing in the coming months. Schools will be invited to bring up to 12 students on their visit. Events will include a range of interactive sessions, the chance to meet our current students, a tour of college, and the opportunity for your students to ask their questions.

Visits held at school

When visiting schools, we aim to deliver informative sessions to 1-3 groups of students between KS3 and KS5. A “group” can be defined as a whole year group, a class, or a smaller group of “high achievers”. These visits are highly flexible and allow us to see more of your students. Presentations last around 60 minutes and will be tailored to the needs of the group. Depending on the audience, sessions will cover some of the following topics:

  • GCSE/A Level/University decisions,
  • Understanding Higher Education
  • Student finance
  • University applications
  • Competitive universities (including Oxford and Cambridge)

In the case of oversubscription, priority will be assigned based on Widening Participation flags.

We know that this is change from how we’ve organised events previously. Moving to multi-school events visits will make the most of our resources and significantly increase the total number of students and schools we can host, maximising the impact we have on both students and teachers.
