Newnham’s gardens are stunning. First designed in 1882, the gardens have matured elegantly over the past 130 years, and they are now one of the loveliest College gardens in Cambridge.

They have a character of their own, alternating long vistas with intimate spaces; they are gardens to be lived in as well as looked at. Newnham gardens are different from other college gardens. Newnham students can walk on the lawn, and there is no Fellows’ garden at Newnham; the gardens are shared by everybody who works here. The gardens are also open to the public, most days during the year. For further information, click here.
