Newnham provides a strong support network for all its students
The Tutorial & Academic Office, led by the Senior Tutor and Postgraduate Tutor, is the first port of call to help students with academic issues or general enquiries related to life as a student at Cambridge. The Financial Tutor and Student Finance Officer can help with financial support queries.
Every undergraduate has a Director of Studies (DoS) who advises on academic matters, and a personal or pastoral Tutor who offers support for non-academic matters. Postgraduates also have a personal or pastoral Tutor and a College Mentor for additional academic support.
All students have access to support from the College Nurse and Wellbeing Advisor, who can help students with managing their health and wellbeing while studying.
The Porters’ Lodge is the College's reception and security desk open 24 hours a day, but the Porters are also trained first aiders who help in all emergencies.
Within the student community, peer support is organised by the student representative bodies (JCR and MCR).
The Chaplain of Selwyn College is available to support Newnham students of all faiths and none.
