Visiting the Library
The Library serves members of Newnham College and the wider academic community. Our Library Guide contains more information about Newnham College Library facilities, finding books in the library, and library rules and borrowing regulations. Pick up a print copy from the Library office or at the catalogue terminals. Please visit our Accessibility page for more information about the Library space and access arrangements.
Members of the wider academic community wishing to consult materials held in the Library must request a reader’s appointment by contacting Library staff in advance. Please note that space is limited so access may not be granted in every case.
Opening hours
- Horner Markwick Library: closed.
- Yates Thompson Library: open 9am-5pm Monday to Friday to current Newnham students, visitors, and alumnae.
- Millicent Garrett Fawcett room: open to current Newnham students 6.30am-1.45am every day except Friday 21 – Monday 24 February.
- Jane Harrison room: open to current Newnham students 6.30am-1.45am every day until Tuesday 4 February.
- Barbara White room: open to current Newnham students 6.30am-1.45am every day from Tuesday 4 February except Wednesday 12 February.
- Sidgwick Study room: open 24/7 to current Newnham students.
