Sidgwick

Large red brick, 3 story building with white window frames, situated within autumnal gardens

Sidgwick Hall, originally called North Hall is the College’s second oldest building. It is a square building located to the west of the Porters’ Lodge. Some of the rooms face out onto the college gardens and some face out onto an inner courtyard.

Sidgwick has 65 bedrooms in several households across the ground, first, and second floors. The rooms are divided into ‘households’ which share the use of Kitchen and Bathroom facilities.

The Ground floor has one Household of 15 rooms including four fully accessible rooms with access to two fully accessible shower/toilet rooms and an accessible kitchen. There is a second kitchen and further bathrooms facilities on the ground floor. If the residents of the accessible rooms are allocated these rooms for access needs, they have priority use of the accessible shower rooms, and everyone else must use the other bathroom facilities.

The laundry room for the building is also located on the ground floor.

The First floor has two Households, one of 13 rooms and one of 11. Each Household has a shared kitchen and bathroom facilities. The first floor also has four ensuite rooms which are prioritised to students with access needs. These rooms must be vacated during the holidays for Conferences and College events.

The Second floor has two Households, one of 16 rooms and one of 10. Each Household has a shared kitchen and bathroom facilities. The second floor also has four ensuite rooms which are prioritised to students with access needs. These rooms must be vacated during the holidays for Conferences and College events.
