Biography
Dr. Rachana Acharya is a material scientist with expertise in organic electronic devices and is currently a Marie Curie Research Fellow at the Department of Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology.
Dr. Acharya started her academic journey as a metallurgical and materials engineer at VNIT Nagpur in India and did her masters in materials science and engineering from UCLA, USA. Dr. Acharya then moved to the Max Planck Institute for Solid State Research in Stuttgart, Germany where conducted research with Dr. Hagen Klauk on organic thin-film transistors. She has a PhD in chemistry and material science from the University of Stuttgart and since 2022, is a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Cambridge.
Research Interests
Dr. Acharya has multidisciplinary research interests in material science, electronic device physics and cell biology and is currently developing versatile bioelectronic devices for understanding cell behaviour and building in vitro organ models.
