Biography

Professor Felix Steffek is Professor of Law at the Faculty of Law and a College Lecturer at Newnham College.

He has been awarded a University J M Keynes Fellowship in Financial Economics. At the Faculty of Law, he serves as Director of the Centre for Corporate and Commercial Law (3CL) and Director of International Strategy and Partnerships.

He lectures in Corporate Finance Law, Corporate Insolvency Law and the MCL Deals course. In college, he is Director of Studies in Law and supervises Company Law.

He received his education at Cambridge (LLM), Heidelberg (PhD, undergraduate) and Hamburg (Habilitation, court clerkship).

Research Interests

Felix Steffek’s research interests cover corporate finance law, insolvency law, commercial law, dispute resolution as well as technology and law. His research methods include doctrinal analysis, comparison of laws, economic analysis, justice theory and empirical research.

He has acted as expert for the OECD, UNIDROIT, the World Bank, the EBRD, the Financial Stability Board, the European Commission and Parliament, the World Bank, science organisations, governments, parliaments, courts and LawTech start-ups.

He has published widely in his areas of interest and is on the editorial board of the Journal of Corporate Law Studies, the Cambridge Yearbook of European Legal Studies and the Journal of Conflict Management (Zeitschrift für Konfliktmanagement).
