Research Interests

Dr Evgeniia Ganberg is an early modernist with a special interest in classical reception. Her doctoral thesis explored the comic treatment of the myth of the Trojan War in early modern England, arguing that it was the period’s widespread fascination with exemplarity that made the comic approach to this foundational story so popular. Evgeniia’s work on Troy and beyond has appeared in the Renaissance Studies journal and several edited volumes. Evgeniia’s upcoming project will focus on socio-political reception of the myths of the Graeco-Roman pantheon.
