Biography
Amanda Hawkes is Assistant Librarian at Newnham College Library. She has previously worked at Lucy Cavendish College Library, and at the Philosophy, Divinity and Social and Political Sciences Libraries at Cambridge. Amanda is also currently Secretary of the Cambridge College Libraries Forum, which facilitates collaborative working across Cambridge College Libraries and with the University Library and Faculty and Departmental Libraries. She is also a committee member organising the OxCam conferences held between Oxford and Cambridge College Libraries, and a member of the Librarians in Training committee.
Before retraining as a Librarian, Amanda worked for many years in charities and in the public sector, most recently at Cambridgeshire County Council in Adult Social Care. She studied History and Politics at the University of Glasgow (MA Hons), Public Services Management at the University of Birmingham (MSc) and Information and Library Studies at Aberystwyth University (Postgraduate Diploma).
