Peile, completed in 1910, is the large building located at the West end of the college grounds where it meets Grange Road. It is a few minutes walk from the Porter’s Lodge either by way of the corridor that passes through Sidgwick, Clough and Kennedy Buildings, or through the garden.
Peile has 67 rooms across the ground, first, second, and third floors. The rooms are divided into ‘households’ which share the use of Kitchen and Bathroom facilities. All the kitchen and bathroom facilities in Peile were refurbished in 2021.
The ground floor has four households, each sharing a kitchen and bathrooms facilities. There are two households of four rooms, one household of five rooms and one household of two rooms. The laundry for this building is located on the ground floor in G02, where the household of two rooms is located.
The first floor has three households, each sharing a kitchen and bathrooms facilities. There is one household of five rooms, one household of seven rooms, and a household of 14 rooms which has a second small kitchen.
The second floor also has three households, each of which share a kitchen and bathroom facilities. There is one household of four rooms, one of six rooms, and one of 11 rooms.
There is a further household of five rooms on the third floor of Peile. Four of the bedrooms have sinks and there is a kitchen and bathroom facilities which were newly added in 2022.
