Britain’s leading young harpist and Newnham alumna Anne Denholm has been appointed as the official harpist to the Prince of Wales.

The 23-year-old, from Carmarthenshire, is the fifth person to take the role since it was reinstated in 2000.

She studied music at Cambridge and is pictured here with her harp in her old room at Newnham.

She will conduct her first performance in the post at the Royal retreat Llwynywermod in Llandovery.

Ms Denholm, the first harpist to win the Royal Academy of Music club prize, said her appointment was a “great honour”.
