From code-breakers to playmakers: our 150th Anniversary Festival has it all.

It’s only 44 days until we throw open our doors in celebration of our 150th Anniversary with a free Festival of Arts, Science and Ideas from 2 – 3 July.

The Festival allows us an amazing opportunity to celebrate everything that makes us so great, from our rebellious past, to our ground-breaking present, to our hopes and dreams for the future.

By making the Festival free we hope to welcome as many of our community and beyond to come together to learn, to converse, to debate, to eat, drink and be merry. And of course to show off our beautiful College grounds, award-winning architecture and incredible people.

The event blends ground-breaking ideas with family fun. Check out a short film about DNA Pioneer Rosalind Franklin, whilst the kids get messy with arts and crafts. Hear latest revelations about back holes, or stargaze from an Inflatable Planetarium. Take part in an ‘oarsome’ rowing challenge, or hear Olympic Gold medallist Anna Watkins talk about her career from Newnham to gold. And you can choose between a talk from award-winning novelist Margaret Drabble, or story-time with renowned children’s writers. Dog shows, brass bands, waffles, and ice cream blend seamlessly with artificial intelligence, the Milky Way, specialist art commissions, and a Book Tent, to name just a few of the delights to be discovered.

If that hasn’t done enough to whet your appetite, please see our full programme and details of how to book your FREE ticket here.
