Meet our students: Zhiyu Chen

Zhiyu Chen is studying for a PhD in History and Philosophy of Science. 

She explains the focus of her research on the experience of Chinese migrants to south-east Asia during the early modern period. As well as the excitement she felt at joining Newnham College, and the support she has enjoyed.

Zhiyu is supported by Gates Cambridge, which offers postgraduate scholarships at the University of Cambridge for 'scholars with a commitment to changing the world for the better'.
