For the final Wednesday lunchtime recital of term, the Cambridge University Recorder Ensemble performs a fun programme of music from the movies and video games, including:
Dam busters march
In dreams (from lord of the rings)
Pirates of the Caribbean theme
Super Mario bros theme
Dovahkiin (from Skyrim)
Somewhere in my memory (from Home Alone)
Christmas medley
The University Recorder Ensemble is a friendly, enthusiastic and dedicated bunch of recorder players (recorder-ists?) who meet weekly during term time to explore the staggering 900+ years of recorder consort repertoire. Since its inception in 2009, their membership has typically ranged from half-a-dozen to a dozen members at any time, playing all sizes of the instrument from wee garklein through to hefty contrabass. CURE performs regularly throughout the year, at various locations around Cambridge and occasionally beyond.
The recital is free, and open to all.
