Surroundings
Guests can enjoy spacious, elegantly cultivated gardens featuring stunning boarders and a huge variety of plants. Many of our buildings are in the Queen Anne architecture style, adding a charming backdrop to the grounds. Guests are welcome to relax in the deckchairs on the lawn with a sweet or savoury treat and a drink from the on site Iris Café.
The College hosts multiple groups during vacations and during busy times - such as the summer - you will likely be sharing breakfast rooms with other guests of different ages and nationalities. At other times, during group changeovers for example, the College and dining areas can be very quiet and peaceful.
Bedrooms
The bedrooms in the Dorothy Garrod building are used by students during term time and all feature en suite shower rooms and small double beds. Each room is equipped with complimentary Wi-Fi, a private en-suite bathroom, and tea and coffee making facilities, ensuring a convenient and restful stay.
Breakfast
At Newnham College, breakfast is on a pay-as-you-go basis and not included when you book your bedroom.
Monday-Saturday, the Buttery is open and you can start your day with a delicious, freshly prepared full English breakfast. Subject to availability, this can be enjoyed in our beautiful, traditional dining hall.
Monday-Sunday, the stylish and modern Iris Café offers a selection of warm and cold pastries, warm sausage rolls, bacon baps and egg baps. As well as delicious focaccia sandwiches at lunchtime. Barista style beverages and a selection of cold drinks is available here too.
