Professor Lucy Wedderburn (NC 1979), family and friends hope to create an award to support future Newnham scientists in memory of the late Dr Nina Wedderburn (Salaman, NC 1947), who died on 4 August 2020.
Nina was a remarkable scientist who became an authority on the interactions between viruses and cancer, and how viruses affect the immune system. She was widely respected for her mentorship and integrity among colleagues, students and fellow scientists.
The proposed Nina Wedderburn Award will support undergraduate students studying a Science subject with a preference for Biological Sciences.
Thank you very much for choosing to join this effort and make a gift to Newnham College in memory of Nina. We will recognise everyone who makes a gift collectively as “Friends and family of Dr Nina Wedderburn (Salaman, NC 1947)” in the annual Roll Letter and other College publications and electronic media.
