Virtual Birmingham Roadshow with Keble College (Year 12)

November 2021

Newnham College is working with Keble College, Oxford, to deliver a series of four webinars for students at state schools in Birmingham who are considering applying to Oxford or Cambridge. These events will take place via Zoom webinar from 5-6pm on Mondays in November. Registration for these sessions is now open.

  • Oxbridge Explained for Parents/Carers (8 Nov, 5pm) – register here by 5 November
  • Oxbridge Choices – Choosing & preparing for your ideal course Year 12 (15 Nov, 5pm) – register here
  • Applying to & studying at Oxbridge (22 Nov, 5pm) – register here

Register for both student sessions by 12 November.

Virtual Interview Workshops (Cambridge applicants)

5-6pm, 2 and 10 November 2021

Students from any of Newnham’s Link Area schools who are applying to Cambridge in 2021 are invited to attend a free virtual interview workshop. Newnham’s Admissions Tutors will explain how Cambridge interviews work and give their top tips, and there will be a chance to ask any questions you may have. Students do not need to have applied to Newnham in order to attend.

Enfield Schools Virtual Oxford and Cambridge Information Sessions (Year 11 and Year 12)

Year 12: 5-6pm, 16 November 2021
Year 11: 5-6pm, 17 November 2021

Students from any state school in the London Borough of Enfield are able to attend a virtual Information and Guidance session run by Newnham College, Cambridge. Booking for these events will open in October.

Birmingham Roadshow with Keble College (Year 10)

January 2022

Newnham College is working with Keble College, Oxford, to offer a series of three informative, interactive webinars for Year 10 and 11 students who are ambitious about their futures and interested in the possibility of attending a top university. These sessions are open to KS4 students attending state schools in Birmingham and the surrounding areas.

  • Thursday 27th January: Introducing Top Universities, for KS4 students and their parents/carers
  • Thursday 3rd February: Ask an Oxbridge Student: current students will talk about their experiences of student life and answer your questions
  • Thursday 10th February: Get Future Ready: post 16 options, super curricular activities and study skills

All sessions will run 16:00-17:00 on the dates listed above, and will be hosted using Zoom webinar technology by representatives of the Universities of Oxford and Cambridge. Recordings will be available, although we recommend that you attend live to have your questions answered.

As these sessions take place outside of the school day, students should register independently using this form.

Registration for the full series (3 webinars) is open until 5pm on Monday 24th January.

West Midlands Webinars

This programme has now ended for 2021.

If you will be in Year 12 at a state school in the West Midlands in 2022 (i.e. you are currently in Year 11), you can register interest here to receive a notification when applications open next year. This includes Newnham’s link areas of Walsall and Birmingham.
